Fatima-Zahra Ma-el-ainin

Fatima-Zahra is a psychologist, poet, and narrative architect reimagining how societies cultivate wellbeing. Her work sits at the intersection of systems work, knowledge design, and social transformation, informed by more than a decade of experience in systems mapping, programme design, and conversational leadership.

Through global commissions, institutional partnerships, and field-building initiatives, she develops frameworks that elevate wellbeing from intervention to design principle.

A sought-after speaker, she has addressed audiences at the UK Parliament, the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos, the IAYMH Conference, and TEDx, among other platforms.

In the space she makes between engagements, she sustains her wellbeing through writing, tending to her houseplants, and nurturing the slower, quieter parts of her life.

Her Approach

At the core of her work is a commitment to systemic wellbeing: the understanding that wellbeing is a principle that should inform how systems are designed from the outset, instead of an outcome to optimise. Her practice spans the design of programmes and learning experiences, the curation of conversations and convenings, and the development of narratives and frameworks that shape how individuals and institutions understand and act on complex challenges. She works across inner, relational, and systemic layers, supporting individuals, organisations, and movements to engage with questions of wellbeing, responsibility, and long-term thinking in more intentional ways. This work is grounded in the belief that transforming systems requires a shift in how we relate to one another, how we make sense of complexity, and how we take responsibility across generations.
